Mother's Day.

fading into blue.

Mother's Day brought with it rain and an icy-cold wind, steel-grey skies and the possibility of snow. the snow never eventuated, and instead there was homestyle bacon for breakfast, great coffee, an hour or so spent exploring a glorious book sale for all kinds of treasures, and gifts just for me. :)

Lauren's gift to me was hand-made: a minibook she'd put together all by herself. she used embellishments, pictures and quotes, and wrote little notes about our family and my love of photography. so much time, effort and thought went into it, and I'm forever grateful to have such an amazing daughter.

Ivan's gift to me was this gorgeous charm for my bracelet: a tiny silver globe that spins with the gentle touch of a finger. it's so very cool! now I can tell everyone my husband gave me the world. ;)

I hope all the other mums out there had a day as wonderful as mine. Happy Mother's Day. :)

  1. that book made me all teary; so sweet, and what is it about our daughters following in our footsteps of their own choosing that's like a stab of pure love right in the heart?

the globe is very neat, too; there's nothing like a gift that shows how well someone knows you. <3
