under my skin.

a restless day today: one when I can't really settle to any one thing. I curled up on the sofa to read for a while (Stephen King's latest, a collection of short stories called Just After Sunset), but my heart just wasn't in it. (which is, I'd like to point out, not a reflection on the book at all: the book is fabulous. dear Stephen King, it's not you, it's me-- I swear. kisses, halo.)

instead, I wandered around the house and garden with my camera, snapping a few random pictures, which is what I usually do when I'm feeling this way. there's a comfort in the familiar, in the feeling of doing something constructive and creative, in the constant desire to see the ordinary and everyday in whole new and fresh ways.

threads. ecosystem.

scents & scentsibility.

panoramic.

take it with you.

maybe one day I'll run out of ways to embrace my world-- perhaps I'll find myself at a loss for ideas on how to capture the way the afternoon light streams through a window, or the soft, lush curves of precious trinkets scattered on a dresser. maybe one day, all of that will finally elude me. but that day is not today.

it's not today.
